Part 14 of my vampire yaoi story.....
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tim gasped in shock, grabbing onto the counter. Jakyle had lost... The APS now have him. Now Jakyle will die and he'll be free! Tim slowly stood, utterly astonished. He didn't budge an inch in any direction.
Keith aimed a shotgun at the vampire, signaling the other members to stand by and wait for orders. Casey nodded and turned. She strolled casually up to the monster.
She surveyed him for a moment with a blank expression.
Then she slammed her steel toed boot into his stomach with all her might. The vampire, already on the floor, dropped down to his hands, hacking up blood.
Jakyle would have tore a human limb from limb for doing that, but he was now too weak to stand. He attempted to reach for her leg, but she stepped out of his reach. So he sat back up against the wall. He wouldn't die lying on the floor. He would die proudly: trying to rip them apart and cursing heaven, hell, and earth.
"Damn you all to Hell..." he hissed, a small stream of blood and saliva dripping out his mouth. He glared daggers at the humans, successfully striking fear in the lesser member's hearts with his cold death stare. He curled his body and tensed his muscles like a cornered cat, ready to strike at all who came near. Even in condition, he tried to keep his voice steady and sure.
"Oh no, not us. You're the one that's going to Hell. That's where a vampire goes when it dies. We both know that," Casey hissed at him, smirking cruely. "You thought you could get away with kidnapping, rape, and murder in our town, huh? You think God isn't watching? That we aren't? Well, no one makes a mockery of the APS and lives to brag about it!" The APS members let out a small victory cheer. Keith shushed them and signaled them to remain focused on the monster.
Jakyle smirked coldly. "I won't be the last... They'll be someone else who will come and rid the world of idiots like you. You think you work for the good of the people.. Ha!" The vampire spit in their direction. "You're blinding by your own damn extremism if you think you're really sin-free. If it fits your damn agenda, you'd even slaughter a child without blinking an eye or giving it a chance. You're hypocrites. You're as corrupt as I am. Not fit to claimou work for some higher power. There's no place in heaven for scum like you, but I'll make sure to reserve a spot in Hell right next to me with your name on it," Jakyle hissed and coughed. His words alone sent a shiver up the humans' spine.
Casey guffawed. "We'll see about that!"
"Then get on with it! If you're so set on ending my life, hurry up and kill me. Otherwise, I have plans to get on with."
Casey's eyes narrowed and her smirk faded. "If you're so eager to get to Hell, then let's do it. The world will be a much better place without you." She raised her weapon again, signaling to Keith.
He held up his hand to the others. "Casey'll get first shot. Then he's free game." The members nodded.
Jakyle tensed up. He tried to stand, but fell back down, opening his wounds farther. He gritted his teeth. No, there was nothing he could do to die with dignity. He was too weak to fight at the end. What a pathetic death, backed into a corner. He had things he wanted to do before he went to Hell.... But it wasn't the worst death he could imagine. Tim could have died before him. He could have lost control and killed the boy. That would have been the true Hell. This was nothing. He glanced at the members to see Tim standing behind them, but among them. He closed his eyes. They would surely take Tim in as a member. Jakyle sighed. That was almost as bad an ending. His love would join his enemies and carry on the traditions. He wished he hadn't brought Tim that day. Having Tim corrupted by their hypocrisy would make the vampire's heart heavy, even in the pit of Hell.
He opened his eyes sharply, raising them to his executioner. He lifted his head slightly, baring his extended fangs at Casey. He brought up a little beastral strength from deep inside himself. Perhaps he could at least injure her.
Casey took careful aim right between the vampire's eyes with her shotgun. The moment she had wanted for such a long time now was now upon her. Pure ecstasy as her finger snugly gripped the trigger.
But her view was suddenly blocked. Her eyes widened instinctively and she lowered her gun slightly. Even Jakyle, who was tense and ready to strike, snapped his head up to see.
Right between them, with arms extended outwards, was Tim. He stood just as he had before with the pregnant woman on the bus. His chest heaved in and out with fear, but his face showed pure determination as he stared Casey right in the eye from the end of her shotgun.
Casey raised her gun back up again, aiming at the child's head, and squinted one eye. She growled "You're in my way, Rook...." in the most threatening and quiet voice he'd ever heard.
The other APS members all looked around at each other, unsure of what to do. But Keith gave them a look and they all aimed their guns back at the child.
Even Jakyle who knelt crouched up behind the boy growled slowly and threateningly "Get out of the way, boy. You're going to get shot standing there."
Tim closed his eyes and harshly shook his head. "Both of you, shut up!!" Casey gritted her teeth while Jakyle looked worriedly at his child in danger and attempted to grab his leg and shove him out of the way. "Don't try to stop me, Jakyle," Tim snapped, looking down at him. The vampire reluctantly lowered his arm while giving him a glare. Tim turned back defiantly to the leader of the APS. "I can't let you kill him."
Casey scoffed. "There is no cure for vampirism. The only way to rid the world of vampires is to kill them. Now move."
Tim shook his head. "If you want to kill him, you'll have to kill me, too." They glared at each other, neither one backing down.
Finally after a sigh Casey spoke with a very controlled voice. "You only think he's good for you. He's the one who kidnapped you from your family and home. He's the one doing horrible things to you against your will. We want to take you back to your normal life and family and friends. You might feel the need to stay with your kidnapper, but I assure you, we are your friends. It's a psychological disorder called "Stockholm syndrome." When you fall into love and feel loyal and close with your kidnapper. But he does not have your best interests in mind. We do. Now come here, and we'll get you help."
Tim stared at her. "Stockholm syndrome?? Well I can assure you of something! I'm completely sane! And you know what? I think you're preaching hypocrisy here! You say he kidnapped me? Well, so did you, and right out of my house! And you think you have better intentions for me? That may be right, but shoving me out in that abandoned building with a homicidal vampire on my first day was not very caring and loving of you! And what do you know about what he's doing to me? You don't know everything!" He finished his speech and tried to control his heavy breathing.
"Alright, alright. Yes, we have been rough on you. But now it's over. We'll take you home and leave you there. You'll never have to see us again. Life will be safe and normal again. If you come with us. If you go with him, he'll continue the things I know he's doing to you now. And he'll only get worse. And I'm not saying you're insane. I'm saying it's a common misconception. But he needs to die for his countless murders, rape, and for being a pedophile. He's a monster, and he's supposed to go to Hell. You don't need to die, Rook. Come here, let's get you home," Casey extended him a hand toward him. She stared him down.
Tim glared at her hand, unsure of what to say. It was a bit true. Jakyle had murdered plenty of people, and not all of the killing was necessary. Technically he was a sick evil monster. And Jakyle did have the intention of eventually having sex with him, which would be rape... But he hadn't done it, or anything really that bad. He made sure Tim was well fed and happy with toys and fun things to do. And he protected him with his life, even when close to death. Tim felt a quick pang of homesickness. He remembered his normal life and how it was. But he then realized that he's had more fun and adventure in his time with Jakyle then he's had his whole life. How could he go back to normality? He glared back up at Casey's face.
"You're right, he doesn't really deserve to live, and this is probably the worst mistake of my life, and I might pay for it later if Jakyle decides.... But I just can't go back to my boring old life if it means he has to die. He might deserve it, but I can't let any more people get killed than already have. He's shown me kindness I didn't expect or really deserve after how I yelled at him. And I just can't let you kill him like this. If you want to kill him, then that bullet will have to go through me first." Tim stepped backwards, shielding Jakyle's body with his own.
Casey shook her head and gritted her teeth. She just couldn't accept it. A human willingly protecting a monster?? She raised her gun right up to the boy's face. He didn't even flinch. Her anger began to ferment. She growled at him threateningly. He glared right at her solidly, angering her even further.
Keith slowly stepped up to her, putting his gloved hand on Casey's shoulder. He was about to say something. But the woman just cried out and smacked the barrel of her gun across the young boy's face.
Tim stumbled over slightly, his hand shooting up to his face. "Ah!" He brought back his hand to see a bit of blood on it. It stung badly. But he gritted his teeth. He quickly stood up straight again and extended his arms back up.
Keith whispered to her, "Casey.." But the woman smacked the boy across the face yet again, sending him further stumbling.
   "Ah..!"
This time Jakyle found the strength to stand up. The APS members worriedly pointed their guns at him, but he completely ignored their threat. Jakyle took hold of Tim protectively, and snarled at Casey. "I'll tear you limb from limb for this!!!" He tried to grab Tim and shove him out of the way, but Tim planted his feet firmly.
"Jakyle! I said to not try to stop me! I know what I'm doing!!" The teen shook the vampire's hands off of his body.
Jakyle glared at him. "I will not have you getting hurt for what I've done. Go with them, now!"
Tim glared right back. "No!" He shoved his back up against the monster. "Take me as your hostage. Go on. Take me." He grabbed the vampire's hands and placed them around himself. "We can get away if you take me hostage. Now do it!"
The vampire hissed at him. "That would be pathetic of me. I will not-"
"Take me hostage, damn it!" Tim snarled at him, turning and giving him a look. Jakyle looked down at his eyes and slowly sighed.
He wrapped his arms around the boy's waist, holding him in front of him.
     "Bastard," Casey growled.
"You heard the boy. It's what he wants." But the vampire didn't seem any more pleased about it than Casey.
Tim started to walk Jakyle to the side, toward the broken window, but Casey shoved her gun further at them.
"I'm not afraid to shoot you both. If you're so willing to protect him, then you can die for him, too." Casey glared down the barrel of her gun, getting the teen's chest in her sights. Jakyle almost whined, turning slightly, trying to protect the boy while the boy fought against him, trying to protect him. As they pushed each other, Casey pulled her finger against the trigger.
But Keith was the one who spoke up. He grabbed the barrel of Casey's shotgun and pushed it high up into the air. The gun shot off, sending gunpowder into the air and sending dust and bits of ceiling raining down.
Jakyle and Tim froze, looking at Keith. Casey, too, stared at him, shocked at his disobedience.
"Casey! Wait a minute! We don't have to shoot the child!" He stared steadily at his boss.
"This better be good, Keith..." She said quietly with amazing intensity.
He shook his head. "He doesn't want to see the vampire killed, even after what he's done. I would be ashamed to be a part of a group that would kill a child for forgiving someone. This is against what we are about. We want to protect the people. Well, this is one that doesn't want our protection. I think we should let them leave. If the boy would rather be kidnapped by a monster, let him."
The other APS members lowered their weapons, nodding and whispering amongst themselves. The woman looked around at her loyal people now going against her. "But..." She looked down at her gun and at the two figures in front of her. She had them right where she wanted them. They were right there, and she held a gun in her hand...
Keith looked at the others, nodding. "Come on, Casey, let's forget this ever happened. We have others things to do...." He placed his hand on her shoulder. She looked at it and realized it was the one he had hurt. Her anger slowly fell from her. Keith had forgiven.
She let her arm and gun fall limply to her side. She turned around, unable to look her prey in the eye and watch them escape. "....Leave." She shot out her arm quickly and let it drop. "Just get the fuck out."
Tim and Jakyle looked at each other, a little surprised, but they didn't waste the opportunity. They immediately ran from the Perkins together and off into the distance, quickly disappearing out of sight.
The APS stood looking blankly at each other and their leaders.
Keith hung his arm around Casey. "Are you alright? I know you really wanted the vampire.."
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine," she mumbled with a sigh. But she looked respectively at him. "I couldn't ask for a better second in command. You're strong enough to tell me when I get too out of control.... You're right... I just can't stand that that vampire is free to do what he wants to that nice boy....."
Keith sighed with her. "I think whatever is going on with them is not something for us to meddle in." He hugged her close, slowly walking her out the door of the building. "Come on, let's go back to headquarters. Maybe we should get some rest." The woman nodded.

The other APS members looked blankly at each other. "What the hell was that about...??" Then they all rushed to catch up with their leaders.

   -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tim walked quickly with Jakyle leaning against him, attempting to support his heavy weight, but not really helping. They both didn't speak until they were far enough away to be sure that they were not being followed.
As they walked, Jakyle finally spoke. "That was the stupidest thing you have even done in your entire life," he growled at the boy. Tim looked down slowly, feeling ashamed. "....Thank you." Tim looked up as Jakyle ruffled the boy's hair gratefully. "Just never do it again. Your life is worth far more than my own. I could never allow you to die for me."
Tim rolled his eyes. "Now don't get all mushy on me. Don't think this means I don't hate you anymore or anything. I still do. I just don't want to see you die like that."
"Then we have something we can agree on. We both shouldn't die." He winced in pain as the movement opened his wounds again. "Ah...... But it was truly brave of you. You're lucky you haven't gotten killed yet, with all that rash bravery of yours.... Ah...." He stumbled slightly.
Tim looked down and saw that all along his back and hands where he had touched Jakyle he was smeared with dark red blood. He looked worriedly at him. "...Are you going to be alright?"
The vampire nodded quickly. "I'm.... fine.... It'll just take me a day or so... And I need to remove the bullets before I can heal... Ah...." He gritted his teeth in pain.
Tim looked worriedly at him. His voice gave away a tiny amount of doubt. Tim had a feeling that the danger was not quite over yet..... And he was completely right.
Part 14. And Tim is right at the end. It may seem like it's gotten all fine-and-dandy now, but they aren't out of the war zone yet. Next installment will bring even more danger and fear. But I do hope you enjoyed this one's action and such.

Well, again with the comments and critiques! I love em.
